3. Compact design.
Cons:
1. Expensive for most people.
2. Weak performance in daylight.
Musion EyeLiner is an innovative system for projecting HD video holograms. The system is capable of projecting freeform3D holographic effects. It uses Peppers Ghost technology, which projects the effects on live stages. The projector delivers high resolution holographic images with excellent quality, which makes the images very close to real. Madonna and Gorillaz used the system in one of their Grammy Award presentations. The open system of the projector uses a special foil that reflects images from HD videos. By using the proprietary software, it is possible to show holograms in different sizes. The total system includes a stage and the truss box only.
The unique and new 3D holographic projection system allows three dimensional images to appear on any live stage. The groundbreaking device delivers dramatic video film effects to artistic performances, conferences, retail window displays, trade show presentations, large scale digital signage, etc. The projector allows virtual or live stage presenters to appear alongside the virtual images or animated figures and interact with them. The unique EyeLiner technology is patented in many countries, including USA, Europe and Japan. Using the projector requires only a single projector playback; you won’t need any special equipment like 3D glasses for the audience. The EyeLiner system, when configured correctly, is capable of delivering amazing quality 3D virtual shows.
By using the different sized cubes starting from 2 meters, the projected images can be anything from 50 cm square to a huge 20 meters x 100 meters. The projector supports a wide variety of inputs including virtual or live human beings, animations, landscape, machinery, full sized automobiles, pharmaceuticals, properties, electronic appliances, etc. In any configuration, the EyeLiner supports a full working stage, or you can construct a set behind the foil. Once the set is in place, performers, live actors or virtual images can interact with other projected figures in such a way that it seems all the objects were filmed together. Therefore, with the EyeLiner, it is possible to make live actors perform with virtual partners, animated characters or even the actor’s projected double.
A regular Musion EyeLiner foil can be up to 4.1 meters high and have hundreds of meters in length. For larger installations, a thinner foil that is 8 meters high is also available. However, if you need even more space, you can use the 4.1 meter foils in portrait mode. In that format, each section can be 4 meters wide by 14 meters high. The images displayed will be approximately 11 meters high. Though the foils have a thickness level of less than 100 microns, they completely retain their durable characteristics. As the foils are very thin, projected objects do not create any drop shadow, which occurs when perspex or glass is used. Brighter images are provided with more projected light in brightly lit places. All of these help the Musion EyeLiner to create a very realistic projection of the object. Unlike other materials, the EyeLiner foils can even be cut even when they are fully installed. This will provide the choreographers or creative designers a chance to use the projector according to their custom show plans and needs.
As Musion EyeLiner is designed in a practical way, it does not have any problem entering through small entrances, or lifting or rigging the projector, depending on the site conditions. There are no such problems with the foils, either. Unlike other materials, you don’t have to consider the various types of practical issues when transporting the foils. They can’t be shattered and there is no danger involved in the installation and working process of the projector. The foils can be easily mounted into moving vehicles without having to fear breaking them. With B1 grade fireproof certification, the system does not pose any challenges when it comes to moving them in and out of venues.
Musion EyeLiner makes use of basic video principles and all accompanying equipment is readily available in rental markets. A standard EyeLiner setup consists of a video projector with 5000+ lumens of brightness and a minimum resolution of 1280 x 1024, proper lighting and audio system, a player, a controller and foils with 3d drapes or sets. However, you can also use an LCD screen or high quality Plasma screens for smaller cabinet installations. The projected subject is initially filmed in HDTV and broadcast by using the HDTV projection system. You can use a beta-cam player, full HDTV player or HD digital hard disc player for playback of the recording. The whole setup can be put in a cabinet or a four legged structure. It is possible to stretch the foil into truss frameworks as well.
In order to use the EyeLiner in an outdoor setting, you should take precautions against some common problems like strong daylight, required space, wind, stage depth, etc. To prevent wind damage, you have to create a wind-break surrounding the installation. When there is strong natural daylight, you will have to go for a controlled light environment or choose widescreen HD LED walls. Issues like minimum required space and stage depth should be dealt with while choosing the venue as well.
Once the system is set up and working, you will be amazed at the results. With scalability from a single room to a giant stage and unlimited applications, as well as one of the most advanced imaging technology systems we have ever seen, the Musion EyeLiner is at the top of our list of iReview 2015 best holographic projectors.

I have a client who is asking about holograms or video walls for industrial Tradeshows.
They usually have large machines at tradeshows and are considering other options.
Think of it as a large box the is 8ft high, 12 ft deep and 20 ft wide with a lot going on
inside. Sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, bending, punching, etc, .
Do you have any suggestions on how I can best advise them with development, purchase/rental, etc.?
I have been doing video production, special booth theatre and other production and media things for many years, so I
need to find another way to give them a new impact in their booth.
Thanks.
